ABOUT ME
One Step in Your Trainers A Giant Leap for Your Mind

My name is Mona Sorensen and I am passionate about helping people discover their own strength & resilience through the power of movement and talking. It is my mission to make mental health support more accessible and part of our everyday conversation.
I am a qualified Integrative Therapist and Registered Member of the BACP (British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy). Since qualifying in 2005, I have worked with a variety of mental health issues including anxiety, OCD, depression, seasonal affective disorder, anger, self esteem, relationship difficulties, self harm, suicidal ideation, and domestic violence.
It was through my work as a running coach that I discovered the power of Running + Therapy and was able to see the powerful results in action with the combination of movement and talking. On researching this idea further I discovered that it wasn't a new concept, dating as far back as 4th Century BC where it was Hippocrates who spoke of the mind playing a central role in the healing of the body - looking at 'treatment' holistically and part of a bigger picture including the environment and attitude.
By taking therapy outdoors, it is my aim to offer a safe space, outside the confines of a therapy room, where you can move your body, either through walking, jogging or running, with me by your side. Through this process, you will be connecting your body and mind, connecting with your own inner strength and resilience to enable you to resolve the issue you are facing. Moving forward allows you to leave the past behind and move towards the change you are looking for and the life you want to lead.
The first step is always the hardest, but then it gets a little bit easier....
